Privacy Policy
This policy covers the games published by Aroovo (currently SPIRE, and any future titles listed at aroovo.tech). Our games share the same backend and the same approach to data: we try to keep this short and honest, and we collect as little as possible.
What our games collect
- Display name — a short, auto-generated pseudonymous handle (e.g. "NeonFox42") shown next to leaderboard scores. It is generated for you from a fixed word list — it is never your real name and is not free text you type.
- Game results — gameplay outcomes such as score, height, level, time and game mode, for entries submitted to a leaderboard.
- Anonymous device ID — a random UUID generated on first launch and kept in local storage. Used to associate your scores so we can show your rank. Not tied to your real identity.
- IP address (hashed only) — when you submit a leaderboard score, we store a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP solely for rate-limiting. We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Advertising identifier (mobile app only) — the mobile app versions of our games show ads via Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK collects a device advertising identifier to deliver ads. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, so on iOS this stays non-personalised. The web versions of our games show no ads and load no ad SDK.
What our games do NOT collect
- No real names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, or any government ID.
- No analytics SDK. No third-party trackers. No cookies.
- No microphone, camera, contacts, photos, or location access.
- No payment information — our games are free and have no in-app purchases.
- No chat or user messaging. Multiplayer transmits only gameplay position data.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer features use peer-to-peer WebRTC. When you start or join a game, your device exchanges connection metadata (IP / port pairs) with the other player's device through the public PeerJS broker. After connection, gameplay data flows directly between the two devices and does not pass through our servers. While a match is active, your device sends only your in-game position to the other player. This data is not recorded.
Advertising (mobile apps)
The mobile app versions display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the device advertising identifier to deliver and measure ads; its use of that data is governed by Google's policies. You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device's system settings. There are no ads in the web versions of our games.
Where data is stored
- Local data (your handle, settings, stats) lives in your device's local storage and never leaves the device unless you submit a leaderboard score.
- Leaderboard scores are stored on our servers, hosted on a Hostinger VPS in the European Union.
Children
Our games are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The games do not request any personal information from any user.
Your choices
- You can play solo without ever submitting a score, in which case nothing leaves your device.
- On mobile, you can reset or limit ad personalisation via your device's advertising-identifier settings.
- To remove your scores or your anonymous device ID from a leaderboard, email the address below with your display handle and the approximate time of your run, and we will delete the associated rows.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the "last updated" date above.
